Megan Moore

Megan completed her undergraduate degree at Florida Gulf Coast University, on the edge of the Big Cypress, where she worked booking parasailing trips and spent her free time at her family's home on a remote barrier island. She got a taste of big city life while studying abroad at University College London, under the tutorship of Guardian columnist John Mullan. Receiving her BA in Literature and a minor in Philosophy, she traded the beach for the mountains and a teaching assistantship in the English department at the University of Montana. She studied for a Master's in Literature and taught Writing 101 for two years before leaving academia to apply her skills in a more real-world setting - aka, join a law firm, working her way up from file clerk, to receptionist, to legal assistant. She continued working at the same firm as an intern throughout law school.

Megan graduated from UM Law in 2017. She was a member of the Moot Court team, where she learned to argue on her feet, and completed her clinical internship at the Federal Defenders of Montana, a lion's den of defense. Upon graduation, she dove into practice in various areas including family law, personal injury, and civil litigation. But criminal defense has always had her heart. She has since focused her practice almost exclusively on defending the rights of the accused and is licensed in all Montana courts, the United States District Court for the District of Montana, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She has represented clients in cases ranging from misdemeanor municipal offenses to major drug, weapons, and conspiracy charges. She is a proud member of the Criminal Justice Act panel, where she represents indigent clients from all over the state and several Indian Reservations on federal charges.

Megan believes strongly in the power of good mentorship, and that's one of the primary reasons she chose to join Watson Law, in December 2020. She has benefited immeasurably from working under and practicing with Montana's top attorneys at Datsopoulos, MacDonald & Lind, Schulte Law Firm, Cotner Law, the Federal Defenders of Montana, and now, Watson Law. Megan's approach to practicing law is rooted in a commitment to constantly learning, listening, adapting, and improving, even when it's hard. She values personal connection with each of her clients in addition to providing robust and results-driven representation.

Megan moved to Bozeman in 2019 with her husband Andy, who is a principal in an engineering firm. When not at Watson Law, Megan can be found hanging out with her dogs, leaning into the role of "cool aunt," and fighting a never-ending battle with her fly line. She still has a passion for literature and welcomes book recommendations!
